Helene Skov
I knit every day – not because I have to, but because I can't help it. Knitting is both my peace and my driving force.
When my hands are working, my thoughts run free, and new ideas often emerge – a new design, a different construction, or an unexpected color combination.
My approach to design often begins with triangles. I work with modules – small parts that are knitted in continuation of each other and together form larger wholes, usually without any sewing. This allows for playful exploration of shape, direction, and structure.
I love colors – both the bright and bold ones, but especially the dusty and delicate shades. Solid-colored yarns, heathers, or long color gradients – they all make knitting vibrant and unpredictable. When colors meet and shift along the way, something special happens.
My patterns are born from a desire to share the joy I feel when an idea unfolds in yarn. Many of my designs are also perfect for using up leftover yarn – because the triangular modules make it easy to incorporate small amounts of yarn in different colors and textures.
I hope you find inspiration in my patterns – and maybe even feel like playing with your own color combinations. I really enjoy seeing other people’s versions of my designs, so please share a photo – either by sending it to me directly or posting it on Facebook or Instagram.
Happy knitting – whatever you're making! 🧶
Best regards
