Recommended needle size:
3.5 mm / US 4 (circular needle recommended due to the large number of stitches)
Knitting strength
The knitting tension is not crucial, but has an impact on yarn consumption and the finished size.
The model in the picture is knitted with:
22 stitches = 10 cm (4 in) in garter stitch (garter stitch)
Yarn selection
The pattern can be knitted with:
- Fingering weight yarn (approx. 400 m / 100 g)
- Sport weight yarn (approx. 320 m / 100 g)
- Lace weight yarn – two strands held together (approx. 800 m / 100 g)
The most important thing is that the knitting tension gives a result that you are satisfied with .
Yarn consumption
- Approximately 380 g total
- Approx. 2300–2400 m / 2500–2600 yds
- Approximately 25 different colors are used – but both fewer and more can be used.
Tip: Perfect as a leftover project – small quantities in many colors can be used – and there are endless combination possibilities.
Description
Construction
The shawl is knitted in a symmetrical shape, but has an asymmetrical expression. It consists of a modular knitted center piece in triangles that together form hexagons. On each side, stripes are knitted in different widths, and the shawl is finished with an iCord edge.

The name
Colorful Shawl arose from the many colors that can be combined in the design – and because the melody “soul in flames” came to mind. The combination of colors and music naturally led to the name.
