Yarn choice

Recommended yardage: approx. 380–400 m (416–437 yds) per 100 g

• Long-sleeved sweater:2–5 skeins of yarn with a yardage of approx. 380–400 m (416–437 yds) per 100 g, depending on size.
• Vest/short sleeves:2-4 skeins of the same yarn, depending on size.
• Both models:1–2 skeins of yarn with short colour repeats and the same yardage.
• A small amount of leftover yarn of the same thickness (preferably cotton in a contrasting colour) for a provisional cast-on.

Knitting needles and tools

• Knitting needles (possibly DPNs for sleeves) 3.5 mm – or the size that gives the correct gauge
• Optional crochet hook for provisional cast-on
• 3–5 openable stitch markers
• 3–5 buttons and needle and thread for assembly

Construction

The Hexa Mini Cardi is knitted in modules – triangle by triangle – in garter stitch (garter ridges), and there is only a small amount of seaming at the shoulders.
Stitches are picked up along the way, and the parts are knitted directly together.
The model can be knitted with long sleeves or as a vest with short sleeves.
The front edges are closed with buttons.

Name

The name Hexa refers to the hexagon formed in the middle of the back by six triangles – a characteristic construction that forms the basis of the model.
The name Hexa Mini Cardi was chosen because the model is designed for children.
