Construction

The Hexa Winter Cardi is knitted in modules – triangle by triangle – in garter stitch (garter ridges) and without seams.
The model starts in the middle of the back, where six triangles form a hexagon. From here, the cardigan is built up module by module: fronts, shoulders, sleeves, and edges. Stitches are picked up along the way, and all parts are knitted directly together.
The model can be knitted short or long, with long sleeves or as a vest with short sleeves.
The front edges are integrated and can be finished with buttons or a zipper.

The Name

The name Hexa refers to the hexagon formed in the middle of the back by six triangles – a characteristic construction that forms the basis of the model. The name Hexa Winter Cardi also refers to the yarn's thickness and the large needle size, which results in a full and warm cardigan.
The model is also suitable as a stash-busting project and can be knitted with several thinner yarns held together – allowing for personal color combinations and flexible use of yarn remnants.
