Knitting Needles

Yarn Choice

The blouse is knitted with two types of yarn1. Solid main color:– Fingering weight yarn (approx. 400–460 m / 437–503 yds per 100 g)2. Gradient yarn for stripes and yoke– Lace or light fingering weight yarn (approx. 380–400 m / 415–437 yds per 100 g)The most important thing is that the gauge matches.

Tip: Calculate extra gradient yarn if you want a symmetrical yoke – this gives you the opportunity to adjust the color gradient as you go.

Model Yarn and Colors

The models (the light, the blue, and the turquoise) in the picture are knitted in:– sock yarn – 75% wool and 25% nylon– color-changing yarn in lace weight – 100% woolThe use of gradient yarn supports the graphic triangular pattern in the yoke.

Construction

Tria Tee is constructed from two bands of triangles that form the front and back pieces and are then shaped into an entire sweater – without sewing.

First, two bands of small triangles are knitted – one for the front and one for the back. The two bands are joined across the shoulders. From here, the sleeves and body are knitted in one piece.

All stitches are knitted in garter stitch (garter ridges). The body and the top of the yoke are knitted in the round, and every other round is purled to achieve garter stitch. All parts are knitted together as you go, and the work is finished with a loose bind-off in knit.

The nameTria Teerefers to the triangular modules that form the basis of the construction.
The many triangles create texture and – together with the yarn's color progression – give a beautiful graphic expression.
