Knitting Needles
Recommended needle size:3.5 mm / US 4(or the needle size that gives the correct gauge)
Gauge (garter stitch/garter ridges):24 stitches and 54 rows = 10 x 10 cm (3.9 x 3.9 in)
Yarn Choice
The blouse is knitted with two types of yarn1. Solid main color:– Fingering weight yarn (approx. 400–460 m / 437–503 yds per 100 g)2. Gradient yarn for stripes and yoke– Lace or light fingering weight yarn (approx. 380–400 m / 415–437 yds per 100 g)The most important thing is that the gauge matches.
Finished weight per size
- (XS–S)– approx. 250–300 g / 8.8–10.6 oz
- (M–L)– approx. 300–350 g / 10.6–12.3 oz
- (XL–2XL)– approx. 350–400 g / 12.3–14.1 oz
- (3XL–5XL)– approx. 400–450 g / 14.1–15.9 oz
Estimated yarn quantity by yarn type
Fingering weight(approx. 400–460 m / 437–503 yds per 100 g):XS–S: 1000–1200 m / 1100–1310 ydsM–L: 1200–1400 m / 1310–1530 ydsXL–2XL: 1400–1600 m / 1530–1750 yds3XL–5XL: 1600–1800 m / 1750–1970 yds
Lace weight(one strand – approx. 400 m / 100 g):XS–S: 200–300 g / 800–1200 m / 875–1310 ydsM–L: 250–350 g / 1000–1400 m / 1090–1530 ydsXL–2XL: 300–400 g / 1200–1600 m / 1310–1750 yds3XL–5XL: 350–450 g / 1400–1800 m / 1530–1970 yds
Tip: Calculate extra gradient yarn if you want a symmetrical yoke – this gives you the opportunity to adjust the color gradient as you go.
Model Yarn and Colors
The models (the light, the blue, and the turquoise) in the picture are knitted in:– sock yarn – 75% wool and 25% nylon– color-changing yarn in lace weight – 100% woolThe use of gradient yarn supports the graphic triangular pattern in the yoke.
