Yarn qualities

The yarn pack consists of hand-dyed Donegal as the base colour and either hand-dyed single-ply merino or Mille Colori Baby from Lang Yarns as the contrast colour. The yarn combination is shown in the images for each colour variant.

Donegal 4-ply – solid base colour

• 85% superwash merino wool and 15% Donegal Nep.
• Yardage: 400 m per 100 g.
• Small flecks give the yarn a fine tweed look.

Contrast colour – single-ply merino or Mille Colori Baby

The hand-dyed single-ply merino has the following properties:

• 100% fine merino wool, superwash treated.
• Mulesing-free, 21.5 microns.
• Yardage: 420 m per 100 g.
• Dyed in shades that match the solid Donegal.

In some colour combinations, Mille Colori Baby from Lang Yarns with a gradual colour change is used instead.

Winding

The hand-dyed yarn is supplied in hanks and must be wound into skeins before you start knitting. Mille Colori Baby is supplied in skeins.

Washing and care

Gentle hand washing is recommended at a maximum of 30°C with wool detergent, even though the yarn is superwash treated. Avoid soaking.

Avoid rubbing or twisting the knitted fabric. Gently press out the water and let the piece dry flat in shape. Avoid tumble drying.

Colours

The hand-dyed yarn may vary slightly in colour from hank to hank.

Yarn pack for Hexa Maxi Cardi

The yarn pack combines hand-dyed, solid-colour Donegal with either hand-dyed single-ply merino or Mille Colori Baby from Lang Yarns as a contrast yarn. The yarn combination is shown in the images for each colour variant.

Yarn distribution

The amount of yarn is tailored to the selected size, length and sleeve type. Edges and cuffs are knitted in Donegal.

For solid-colour sleeves, the entire sleeve is knitted in Donegal. In the triangles and for striped sleeves, alternate 2 rows of Donegal with 2 rows of the contrast yarn.

Choose size and style

Choose colour combination, size and either a short or long cardigan with solid-colour or striped sleeves.

The cardigan is designed to allow approximately 8–12 cm of movement. Therefore, choose a size with a finished chest width that is approximately 8–12 cm larger than your own chest measurement.

Sizes: (XXS) XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL.

Chest width – the cardigan's circumference under the arms:(83) 89 (95) 102 (108) 114 (120) 126 cm.

Length – short cardigan:(47) 50 (53) 56 (59) 62 (65) 69 cm.

Length – long cardigan:(61) 66 (70) 75 (79) 84 (89) 93 cm.

Gauge and needles

26 stitches in stockinette stitch = 10 cm.

Recommended needle: 3–3.5 mm – or the size that gives the correct gauge.
