Knitting needles

Yarn choice

The pattern is designed for cotton yarn with gradient colors in fingering weight – e.g., yarn with approx. 240 m / 262 yds per 100 g (3.5 oz).
The model in the pictures is knitted in cotton, but the pattern can also be knitted in wool or blended yarn.
Feel free to choose yarn with color gradients or use leftover yarn in your own colors. The most important thing is thatthe gauge matches.

Construction

Hexa Summer is knitted in modules – triangle by triangle – in garter stitch and without seaming.

The model starts in the middle of the back, where six triangles form a hexagon. From there, the blouse or top is built up, module by module: front, back, sides, sleeves, and finishing.
Stitches are picked up along the way, and all parts are knitted directly together. The work is finished with a loose bind-off in knit.

The name

The nameHexarefers to the hexagon formed in the middle of the back by six triangles – a characteristic construction that forms the basis of the model.

The design is suitable for color-changing yarn or colorful scrap knitting and invites play with colors and personal customization.
