Tria Scarf

The length and width of the finished scarf depend on the yarn choice, needle size, number of stitches, and number of triangles.

The pattern includes three models:

• Model A: Scarf with color gradient
• Model B: Striped scarf with two different yarn qualities
• Model C: Solid-colored scarf with lace pattern

All yarn weights and needle sizes can be used. The shown models and their measurements are indicated in the pattern and images.

Knitting Needles

Recommended needle size in the pattern:
3.0–4.0 mm / US 2½–6
(or the needle size that suits the chosen yarn and desired look)

Gauge:
There is no specific gauge in the pattern – the scarf can be knitted in all yarn weights and with all needle sizes. The thicker the yarn and larger the needles, the larger and more substantial the look.

Yarn Choice

The scarf can be knitted in many different yarn types and qualities.
For example, choose:

• Gradient yarn (in the pattern – lace, fingering or sport weight)
• Solid colour yarn – one colour per triangle
• Leftover yarn in multiple colours and qualities

The samples in the pattern are knitted with wool, cotton, and mohair blends. Yarn quantity and measurements are stated in the pattern and depend on the number of triangles.

The Tria Scarf is a modular scarf where each triangle is knitted separately – and directly joined to the previous one.

The work begins with an iCord cast-on, from which stitches are picked up for the first triangle. Subsequent triangles are knitted by picking up stitches from the previous one, with an iCord along the side. The last triangle is finished with iCord on both sides for a neat edge.

The length of the scarf can be adjusted as desired – the more triangles, the longer the scarf. There are no seams, and the construction allows great freedom in both size and color composition.

The pattern includes three different versions:
Model A:Knitted in gradient yarn – but the scarf can also be made with each triangle in its own color.
Model B:Knitted alternately with two different colors and yarn qualities (two needles of each).
Model C:Knitted in solid-colored yarn with a small lace pattern.

You can use any yarn and needles you wish – there are no gauge requirements. On the front of the pattern, you will find an overview of models, yarn consumption, and measurements, which can be used as a guide and inspiration.

The name

Triarefers to the triangular shape. The simple modular knitting allows for playful experimentation with colors and textures – making the scarf suitable for both solid and multi-colored yarns.
