Knitting needles

Recommended needle size:
3.5mm / US 4
(or the needle size that gives the correct knitting tension)

Knitting tension (garter stitch/garter stitch):
24 stitches and 54 rows = 10 x 10 cm (3.9 x 3.9 in)

Yarn selection

The blouse is knitted with two types of yarn.
1. Solid base color:
– Fingering weight yarn (approx. 400–460 m / 437–503 yds per 100 g)
2. Yarn with color gradient for stripes and yoke
– Lace or light fingering weight yarn (approx. 380–400 m / 415–437 yds per 100 g)

The most important thing is that the knitting tension is right .

Finished weight per size
  • (XS–S) – approx. 250–300 g / 8.8–10.6 oz
  • (M–L) – approx. 300–350 g / 10.6–12.3 oz
  • (XL–2XL) – approx. 350–400 g / 12.3–14.1 oz
  • (3XL–5XL) – approx. 400–450 g / 14.1–15.9 oz
Estimated yarn quantity by yarn type

Fingering weight (approx. 400–460 m / 437–503 yds per 100 g):
XS–S: 1000–1200 m / 1100–1310 yds
M–L: 1200–1400 m / 1310–1530 yds
XL–2XL: 1400–1600 m / 1530–1750 yds
3XL–5XL: 1600–1800 m / 1750–1970 yds

Lace weight (one thread – approx. 400 m / 100 g):
XS–S: 200–300 g / 800–1200 m / 875–1310 yds
M–L: 250–350 g / 1000–1400 m / 1090–1530 yds
XL–2XL: 300–400 g / 1200–1600 m / 1310–1750 yds
3XL–5XL: 350–450 g / 1400–1800 m / 1530–1970 yds

Tip: Calculate extra yarn with a color gradient if you want a symmetrical yoke - this will allow you to adjust the color gradient along the way.

Model yarn and colors
The models (the light, the blue and the turquoise) in the picture are knitted in:
– sock yarn – 75% wool and 25% nylon
– color-changing yarn in lace weight – 100% wool
The use of the yarn with a color gradient supports the graphic triangle pattern in the yoke.

Construction

Tria Tee is constructed from two bands with triangles that form the front and back and are then formed into a complete blouse - without sewing.

First, knit two bands of small triangles – one for the front and one for the back. The two bands are joined over the shoulders. From here, knit the sleeves and body in one piece.

All stitches are knitted in garter stitch. The body and the top of the yoke are knitted in the round, purling every other round to achieve garter stitch. All parts are knitted together as you go, and the work is finished with a loose bind off in garter stitch.

The name

The name Tria Tee refers to the triangular modules that form the basis of the construction.
The many triangles create structure and – together with the yarn's color gradient – give a fine graphic expression.
With your own colors, Tria Tee can be given a completely personal touch and become both a creative and unique knitting project.
