Two sizes

Finished size – small potholder:
Approx. 22 cm (8.7 in) in diameter

Finished size – large potholder:
Approx. 28 cm (11 in) in diameter

Knitting needles

Recommended needle size:
– 4 mm / US 6 needles for the triangles
– Optional: 6 mm / US 10 needles for the finishing edge (Model A)

Gauge:

20 stitches = 10 cm (4 in)

Yarn consumption

Work with 2 strands held together.
Preferably use cotton, linen, or a blend yarn

• running length approx. 240 m / 262 yds per 100 g
• Approx. 100 g = 1 pair of pot holders

Construction

Each potholder consists of 6 knitted-together triangles that collectively form a hexagon.

All triangles are garter stitch and are knitted together as you go – completely without seaming. Stitches are picked up along the edges, and the last triangle is knitted directly together with the cast-on stitches from the first triangle.

The potholders are finished with an edge (either garter stitch or i-cord) and a practical loop, which can be knitted or attached as desired.
